Rydal Penrhos is situated in Colwyn Bay, Conwy, North Wales and is a co-educational boarding and day school for boys and girls aged from 11 to 18. The school’s focus is on developing the individual skills, talents and interests of each child, alongside fostering a love of learning. It also aims to develop a strong sense of social and moral responsibility in its students and staff.
The school was originally founded by Methodists and continues to uphold a strong Christian ethos. The school motto ‘Truth, Knowledge, Faith’ is central to the education and pastoral mission of the school. The school chapel remains an important element of daily life at the school.
The school has in the region of 275 day students, in addition to those who elect to board, either on a weekly or termly basis. There are 147 full-time members of staff at Rydal Penrhos, who are fully supported by a number of visiting sports coaches, peripatetic and part-time teachers. As well as the academic team, there is a full and experienced team of nurses, technicians, administrators, IT support staff, librarians, transport staff, grounds keepers and caterers.
