Ruthin School is a co-educational school in the Vale of Clwyd that caters for pupils aged between 11 and 19. Established in 1284, it celebrates its rich history while aiming to provide a modern and friendly environment in which students can achieve their potential.
The school is particularly proud of its small class sizes and believes this promotes a family atmosphere that enables students to develop. There are approximately 300 pupils at the school, around half of whom board on the premises. The school is dedicated to providing an education that stretches beyond academic league tables in order to develop well-rounded individuals who can contribute to the school and, later, the wider world. They promote a sense of community and the school’s ethos encourages personal and spiritual development.
While the school has a foundation in Christianity, it does not discriminate against those from other faiths and celebrates diversity.
Approximately 70% of the school’s intake is from schools outside of the United Kingdom and they are proud of offering a curriculum that allows students to flourish within a diverse community.
