Redhill preparatory school is a mixed day school based in Haverfordwest, Wales. The school is situated in modern buildings with access to engaging outdoor areas. The school caters for children from birth through the Montessori nursery. The school follows Montessori principles focusing on instilling confidence and self-belief through a broad range of experiences and opportunities. As part of its ethos the school encourages creativity and inquisitive thought, and mixes opportunity, challenge and a strong work ethic to breed successful high achievers. There is a ‘no limits’ approach to learning.
There are currently 110 children on roll, and class sizes are kept small to increase opportunities for student / teacher interaction. The Early Years at Redhill has a strong Montessori work focus, alongside Welsh language development, music, games, topic work, art and enhanced learning sessions. The focus on the Montessori approach continues into Years 1 and 2, but further structured lessons are also included with modern foreign languages, ICT, and comprehension included in the curriculum. Children are also introduced to Forest School activities at this stage. From Year 3, children experience a much more subject based curriculum, covering all the core subjects, as well as expressive arts, Welsh, humanities and modern foreign languages.
Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, the school is accessible by road and rail, as well as by local bus services. The school also works with a local transport company to provide bus transport to children in Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Milford Haven.
