Kilgraston is an Independent Girl’s Day and Boarding school for students aged 3 to 18. The school is a Catholic faith school that welcomes children from all faiths as well as those of none. It emphasises the need for spiritual development, alongside academic progression. It is situated at Bridge of Earn, in Perthshire and sits in 54 acres of parkland, fields, woodland and natural streams. The main school building is situated in a Georgian red sandstone building, with the prep school being situated in the old stable building. The school was founded on the belief in academic rigour, responsibility, integrity, trust and respect, and these values are still central to the school’s ethos. All students are encouraged to take pride in themselves, their achievements and their surroundings.
Pastoral care is a central tenant of the school’s philosophy, and it aims to create a real sense of community between the students, teachers and other staff members. The school runs a BFG (Big Friendly Girl) scheme where older girls act as big sisters to the younger students, providing support and assistance where it is needed.
The school team consists of 34 teachers, a 6-person strong senior management team, house masters/mistresses, residential staff, including the Chaplin, and a number of other support and grounds staff.
