The Glasgow Academy is a co-educational Independent Day School catering for children from Nursey age onwards founded in 1845. The academy consists of three different school sited around the city of Glasgow. The main campus is at Kelvinbridge and this includes the senior element of the academy.
The school fosters a ‘can do, will do’ ethos and encourages all students to always do their very best. The school benefits from class sizes that average less than 20 students, and focuses on providing inspirational teaching and a wide range of activities. Students at the school recently achieved an overall 67.5% A grade pass rate at S5 Highers and in Advanced Highers the overall pass rate was 91.3%.
The Glasgow academy follows a Scottish based curriculum with students studying in the region of 13 subjects when they first start in the senior school. The number of subjects is reduced as students progress through the school, most study five subjects in their Higher year. Students are able to combine further Highers with their Advanced Highers if they choose to do so.
