Fairholme Prep School is a mixed day school based in North Wales. Founded in 1900, it has been present at its current location of St Asaph since 1964. The school caters for boys and girls from the age of three in its Kindergarten, before they begin their full-time education. The school combines traditional values and modern teaching techniques to develop confident, thoughtful and capable young people. The school’s ethos focuses on equipping children with the fundamental skills that are essential for academic work, while also encouraging creativity and practical abilities. This is achieved in a friendly caring environment, with the use of modern technology, and a focus on the community; both inside school and in the local and wider area.
There are currently 116 students on roll, aged between 3 and 11; all teaching takes place in small classes. Fairholme has links with Senior schools in North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral, support is given for those children approaching the time for their entrance exams.
Through the early years’ curriculum at Fairholme, children begin their literacy and numeracy journeys. They are also able to take part in a range of creative, musical and sporting activities. Developing the children’s confidence is a central part of education at this level. Following on from this, children are offered a broad curriculum that goes beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum. Are You Ready For Schools' Admissions Processes? Recommended Reading
