How is this calculated?
Founded in 1541, Christ College is one of the oldest independent schools in Britain. It caters for boys and girls aged 7 – 18 and successfully combines academic success with excellent pastoral care and a strong sense of community. With only 400 students, the school offers a teacher student ratio of 1:9 and excellent facilities. Of the cohort, 55% are boarders and 14% of students are from overseas. Forces children also make up 9% of the roll. As well as excellent academic results, the school prides itself on its wide range of extracurricular activities to suit all tastes and abilities.

Students study a broad range of subjects in Years 7 and 8, including PSE and IT, French and either Spanish or Welsh. This continues in Year 9, when students will start to prepare for taking their GCSE options. All students study English, Mathematics and Science at GCSE. They also get to choose five more subjects, each from a different block, one of which includes separate sciences and one of which must be either Music, Drama, Art, Physical Education or Photography. This system allows students to cover a broad range of subjects, prepare for the new Progress 8 GCSE system and keeps their options more open for when they choose their A ‘levels.
