The Aberdeen Green School (commonly known as TAGS) was founded by Diane Elliott in 2014. Based in an iconic children’s playpark in Aberdeen, the school caters for boys and girls from the age of 10. The school’s ethos is based on the principles of combining environmental understanding with entrepreneurship. The school offers a dynamic, unique learning experience inspired by an inclusive and holistic view of the development of the whole person. The school’s approach is based on Project-Based Learning and Brain Science approach.
At the last inspection, there were 7 pupils on roll, class sizes are small, with a teaching roll of 4 supporting the learning of the children. Traditional subjects, including maths, English, languages, music, art and drama are offered alongside science, history, geography, social studies and philosophy. Thematic teaching and an experiential approach encourages children to engage fully with each of the subjects.
The school encourages a flexible exam program that offers students the opportunity to take their exams at a time that is right for their individual learning progression. As a part of this all learning plans are individually tailored to the needs of each child.
