Rail

The Eurail Pass has become a symbol of the backpacking college student or 20-something explorer taking a break before starting a career. But, in reality, Eurail passes are available to people of all ages. Travellers under the age of 26 do receive discounts, but so do seniors over the age of 60, and groups of two or more. A variety of passes are available to fit the needs of every traveller, whether they are going to Europe for two weeks or two months. Country specific passes are also available.

France has over 19,847 miles of railway which link many of its 36,000 towns and villages. The TGV train can whisk passengers between stations at the speed of 186 mph. TGV stands for "Train à Grande Vitesse", which translated into English means "high speed train" (an appropriate name, don't you think?)
